Framing Friday
Today was day 1 of framing and mostly about getting organized, checking our lumber list and making sure we had everything we were supposed to get and getting started. Brandon got a great start today with all of the sill plates cut and framing layout measured and marked for the full basement. He also had time to start the first wall riverside. The plan is to get the first wall up in the morning. Here are a few more pics of Framing Friday!
First wall to go up, still needs windows framed with headers, jacks, and cripple studs.
Did you know...
In building language “cripple” refers to a special-purpose wall stud or roof rafter. A cripple stud is located above a door or window or below a window.
There have been a lot of terms that I have had to look up the meaning to and how to spell with this project so far. It's been a fun learning process!
More to come, stay tuned...
