The Holidays have passed and I am ready to start the next project which should be the last for the house. After this the only project I will have left is the garage. The pictures you see are of the attic above the kitchen and laundry room. Back in november I added skylights and it was for this project, I didn't want to be putting them in during the winter. So far I have extended all the roof rafters and reinforced the structure. All of the roof ventilation has been put in and electrical is started. Electrical is going to take some time as most of the feeds from the main electrical box cross this area, and I need to move all of them in order to remove the ceiling eventually. My plan is to do all of the work on the new ceiling with removing the old one. I figure it will allow me to easily reach everything and keep the construction mess out of the living area for now. I am working fast as it is January and insulation is a priority due to how cold it is up in the attic.

The bathroom is done. With the holiday coming fast, we are going to take a break till after the new year to start the next project. The kitchen.

The bathroom is getting close to done at this point. The mudding is finished and the walls have been primed. The final paint color has been picked out and as you can see the first coat has been put up. We have picked up the vanity and sink to be put in this weekend. The base trim will also go in this weekend and I think this project is complete.

The shower hardware has been put in and the shower doors are up now. I did have a minor setback while hanging the shower doors where one of them shattered. A huge mess and a cost that was not needed in this project. We have put that behind us now and continued on. All of the drywall is now up and now mudding starts which is my least favorite part of any of the projects I have done.

We had the warm weekend I have been waiting for with no rain in the forecast. I used the weekend to install two more skylights in the attic above the kitchen and a new window in the bathroom. For some reason these are the only pictures I have of the work. I am sure you will see the project done in posts to come....
